Backstage Coordinator (Stage Manager)

Kids Artistic Revue, Inc. is a professional production company that produces dance competitions and hosts about 140 live events per year. We are excited to recruit additional team members to join our family all while developing professional experience with live dance productions, as well as creating unforgettable memories with other ambitious and talented individuals!

Kids Artistic Revue, also known as KAR, is one of the nation’s most prominent dance companies which generates multiple dance competition tours, dance conventions, multimedia productions, dancewear apparel, charity events, and award shows. With a reach of over 500,000 dancers annually, we take pride in providing a platform for aspiring dance talent and enhancing the visibility of dance entertainment in popular culture.

We are currently seeking highly energetic backstage geniuses, wizards, and amazes for our dance competition tour. We are looking for enthusiastic, upbeat, and entertaining individuals. If you love to work with kids and can work long hours with a limited amount of sleep, then this job is for you!

THIS IS A PART-TIME/SEASONAL JOB.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Loading in and breaking down event set up / must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Laying down and securing the performance Marley floor
  • Set up all TV’s, radios, and iPods, and manage backstage application
  • Coordinate performers and organize performance line-up
  • Maintain good relationships with dance studio representatives, directors and clients
  • Prepare awards table and assist on stage in distributing awards during the live presentations
  • Maintain a clean and safe stage, as well as the backstage area
  • Maintain a professional and effective dialogue with all team members via radio communication
  • Be cooperative and work with teammates & take direction from the event director
  • Responsible for keeping an accurate inventory count of all awards: incoming & leftover items
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
  •  Strong organizational and communication skills
  •  Must work well under pressure
  •  Must be a dedicated team player
  •  Must be a creative problem solver
  •  Able to stand for long periods of time; weekend work hours average 25-40 hours
  •  Must be available to travel Thursday mornings through Monday Mornings (sometimes you  may leave as early as a Wednesday redeye)
  • Must have a valid government-issued ID or Passport
  • Must be fully vaccinated or will and able to submit weekly negative test results
  • Touring experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Work experience with youth is a plus.
  • Dance experience is a plus but not required
COMPENSATION

DOE – $200 – $1000 per event // $16-$18 per hour

Position to begin February 2024
